Lifetime warranty is only on their tools. Sounds like you have either a fuel clog (filter or carburetor) or possibly an ignition coil problem.

if a lawnmower starts to smoke and stuff, it usually means there’s an oil problem…which could mean anything from a $25 repair to a $500 repair. I’d take it to a local ‘dealer’ and get it checked out, since they usually have service stations where they sell them (or nearby).

if not, then go to Lowes or Home Depot and they should be able to help you… they’re usually very informative and helpfu. :]

No….Craftsman Lifetime Warranty only applies to their hand tools and not even all of them are covered…… I need a little more information on the mower to help diagnose the problem but it sounds like the carb is stopped up if it only runs for a few seconds……Drain tank, remove and clean carb, reinstall and refill with gas and check oil level….should crank and run….email me if I can be of more help….been repairing these silly things for some thirty years….Good Luck

If you haven’t started it up in a while, then just clean everything up including the spark plug, gas tank, carb, and the air filter. And no…..Craftsman only lifetime warranties some of their hand tools. But they do have extended warranty options when you bought the lawnmower. Try using that gas stabilizer next time you don’t intend to use the mower for a while. I hear it works great. So does emptying the tank and and lines of all fuel before you put it up for the winter.
