Do I have to put a Craftsman snowblower attachment on my Craftsman lawn tractor?

I have a new (2008) Craftsman 22hp lawn tractor. The new Craftsman snowblower attachment is $1000+… can any snowblower attachment made for a lawn tractor be made to work? Or will only Craftsman attachments work?

      The Craftsman will bolt up easier than brand X. measure the mounting brackets on the Craftsman then the brand X if its close with a little bending with an acetylene torch you can make it fit.
