my craftsman lawn tractor died while mowing. now it is dead. is there a fuse anywhere that could blow?

Check the starter solenoid, there is a fuse about 6″ away from the ignition also. If it’s not one of those check the safety kill switch under the seat, if it goes bad it will not allow the engine to start. Check to see if the “blade engaged” kill switch is damaged as this also will not allow the engine to start while the blades are able to turn.
One more thing….Check the battery cables and make sure they are clean and tight.
Have you replaced the battery lately? I dead battery would cause that condition. It would die because when running the motor was actually using battery power to keep the spark, so you may need to make sure its charging as well. Also, check to make sure that the blades are OFF, my wife always tries to start the mower with the baldes engaged and the safety switch prevents that from happening. Also there may be a switch on the seat too, so chek to make sure thats working and isn’t gummed up.
